Lamphun, 25 km, and Lampang, 100 km from Chiang Mai, these two towns were part of the Haripunchai Kingdom of the Mon during the Dvaravati period. Becoming included in the Kingdom of Lanna Thai in the thirteenth century, Lampang and Lamphun have retained their splendor and magnificent temples.
