Ami Thai Plus was founded in 1978 by Mr. Somchai Hanyawongse and Ms. Manida Hirunyaman, with a clear belief: Thailand should be represented by a Thai-owned company able to serve international partners with seriousness, reliability, and genuine hospitality.
At a time when Thai tourism was still developing internationally, our founders introduced Thailand to overseas markets through trade shows, business meetings, and long-term relationship building. Ami Thai Plus played a pioneering role in opening and building the French market for Thailand.
What began with leisure groups from France grew to include family travel, individual travel, multiple series groups, MICE, and corporate travel.
Over time, Ami Thai Plus expanded beyond France into other French-speaking markets, including Réunion, Mauritius, and Morocco.
In 2016, Monson Hanyawongse took over the leadership of Ami Thai Plus, continuing the family legacy with stronger structure, sharper control, and a clear growth direction.
Under his leadership, the company expanded into the Premium market, growing its presence in Canada and the United States through series groups and high-value travel programs.
After COVID, in early 2023, Monson entered the Middle East market, beginning with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the company’s first participation at ATM.
This marked the start of our expansion into premium individual travel and corporate groups from the region, strengthening our presence across the UAE, Qatar, and Oman.
