The compound is divided in two parts : Wat
Phra Keo and the Royal Palace itself.
The “Wat Phra Keo” is the Royal
Temple. Built in 1782 on the orders of King
Rama I, the temple is the treasure of thai
arts. It houses the Emerald Buddha, the most
revered Buddha image in Thailand.
The Grand Palace is divided in three sections
: The Outer, Middle and Inner Palaces.
