South - Krabi Krabi's mountainous physical geography is broken by highlands and plains on the mainland.The provincial administration also covers more than 130 islands in the Andaman Sea. Natural forest cover is chiefly mangrove and Cassia trees. Krabi's sandy clay soil conditions are perfect for a variety of agricultural products, including rubber trees, palms, mangos, coconuts, and coffee. The Krabi River flows 5 kilometers through the city and falls into the Andaman at Tambon Pak Nam. There are other streams as well : the Khlong Pakasai, the Khlong Krabi Yai and the Khlong Krabi Noi in the province's highest range of mountains, the Khao Phanom Bencha. Main Attractions: Sra Morakot and Nam Tok Ron The tropical rain forest “Khao naw Joojee” in Klongthom district, has maintain its natural virgin condition. Discovering this forest is very easy with the walking path arranged by the Forest Department . This is a perfect place to discover the diversity of the fauna and flora of the south. More than 300 bird species live in this natural park. The undergroung hot spring water flows out to form a hot waterfall (Nam Tok Ron) and finally gathers in big ponds of cristal clear fresh water in the heart of the forest surrounded by the mountains. Bathing in Nam Tok Ron and in Sra Morokot is a must while visiting this region.     Phi Phi Islands Administratively, the Phi Phi Islands (Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley ) belong to Krabi province. But with the importance of the tourism industry of Phuket, tours start generally from Phuket island. Phi Phi Islands, located just 45 minutes by boat from Phuket, offers a great laid back tropical lifestyle. These tropical islands are perfect picture postcard, with classic white sandy beaches, surrounded by impressive limestone cliffs and sunlit crystal clear water.
